12th Annual MHACA Golf Tournament

HIGHLAND PARK GOLF COURSE

Sponsored by AmSouth Bank and Jim Burke Automotive

Friday, May 11, 2007

Get into the Swing - At the same time, you'll help others get back into the swing of life.  Each foursome increases MHACA's resources to:

  • Operate Socialization and Friendship programs in the Jefferson, Blount, Shelby, St. Clair, and Walker Counties.

  • Continue Job Placement and GED education programs for the mentally ill.

  • Provide "I. C. HOPE" community education/awareness programs and depression screening for youth and adults in the Greater Birmingham areas.

  • Depression/Bi=Polar Support Groups

None of us knows when mental illness may directly affect us, our family, our colleagues, or others that we know.

Let's join together today to enhance the resources that our community has to offer those who most need our help.

About the Highlands Gold Course - The Highland Park Golf Course is rated as the best golf course in Birmingham by the Birmingham News.  Clubs have been striking the ball at this course since 1903, when the course first opened its doors as the Country Club of Birmingham.  This is the site of Bobby Jones first victories as a golfer.  This championship-style golf course still sparkles from a 1998 restoration by the renowned architect Bob Cupps.

Tournament Format - Four-person scramble, with a Shotgun Start, scheduled to begin at 8:00 a.m.

Step Up To The Box - Your $1,000 contribution will place you foursome in the tournament.  Your contribution includes the golf tournament, great food, door prizes, awards banquet, and prizes for the Top Three Finishing teams, Closest to the Hole, and Longest Drive!  Plus, a new car will be given away if you get a hole in one on the 11th hole.
